Ripley’s Aquarium of Myrtle Beach is excited to host the first Penguin Dash 5k run and Ripley’s Penguin Family Fun 1 mile walk/run on Saturday February 15, 2020. This family-friendly, themed event will be a celebration of the newest members of the Ripley’s Aquarium family – South African Penguins. Guests are encouraged to dress up and all ages are welcome. There is even a free Toddler Waddle taking place in front of Ripley’s Aquarium that morning at 9am. There are very limited VIP packages that include the Penguin Dash 5k as well as a 30-minute experience to interact with a real penguin. This event will start and end in front of Ripley’s Aquarium at Broadway at the Beach and the route takes the runners through the Broadway at the Beach shopping and dining complex.
A portion of all race proceeds will be donated toward Penguin Conservation efforts through SANCOBB- The Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds.

Includes the 5k run and a Penguin Encounter Experience (30 minute experience where they get to interact with a penguin on the race day as well as a ticket to Aquarium to use within a year & T-shirt ).
*Due to the nature of the animal experience – should the animals not be available for the encounter a raincheck will be provided for a different date
